Abstract: In this publication, the dynamics of the mortgage credits has been studied and the ratios mortgage credits to credits, and advances and mortgage credits to total assets of the banks of the European Union member states in the period 2014 – 2016. A comparative analysis has been carried out of the mortgage credit dynamics in the EU member states – both in the countries of the euro area, and in the countries outside of it. Major trends in the development of mortgage crediting in the European Union have been outlined.
