Abstract: Over the last decades, the issue of the role of human capital in the overall performance and growth of business is gaining increasing popularity. Globalization changes reinforce this role and require the development of new concepts of human capital, no longer questioning whether and to what extent it is a generator of business growth and well-being. Today is the question of how to generate, use and manage the knowledge acquired and possessed by the individual human being. It is extremely important for managers to rethink their business strategies and link them with the human resources strategy in order to attract, retain and develop employees with high motivation and willingness to work. Only in this way will they provide a competitive advantage, additional value for the shareholders and, in general, business growth.
